Haggai Sees : The Return of God’s Glory

After the people had been faithfully build, build, building God’s House for awhile, God said to Haggai, “I have a message that I want you to send to Zerubbabel and Jeshua, since they have been leading My Family.”

God’s message to them was: “Remember what the House (the one Solomon built) looked like before it was destroyed? Remember how glorious it was? This House here looks pretty shabby compared to that one, doesn’t it?”

Zerubbabel and Jeshua’s faces turned sad. They’d wanted to make a beautiful House for God. But, yeah, God was right. The 1st House had been bigger and much more beautiful and glorious than this 2nd House. They were starting to feel like they’d let God down.

But Haggai wasn’t finished with God’s message. There was more. He said, “Be strong, Zerubbabel. Be strong, Jeshua. Be strong, all My Children! It’s gonna be okay. I am with you. My spirit is still among you. So don’t be afraid. Just keep on work, work, working!

“In just a little while, I’m going to shake, shake, shake the sky and the earth, the sea and the ground! I will also shake up the nations, and the desire of all nations will come, and I will fill the House with GLORY. In fact, the glory of the later House is going to be WAY bigger and brighter than the previous. And I will fill this place with Peace.”

What do you think happened next? Do you think God’s Glory came down and shone brightly and filled that House like it had with the previous House and like it had in Ezekiel’s vision? No… it didn’t. The people just kept on working, and that was the end of what is written down about it.

But God always keeps His promises. So WHEN do you think this Glory-filling the House is going to happen?!

And what about the House that Ezekiel saw? That House was waaay bigger than this one that they’d just finished building. And Ezekiel saw God’s Glory filling every nook and cranny of that House. There must be another House coming, huh?
